FAQ

How much text can a QR Code hold?

QR Code capacity depends on the error correction level and encoding mode. Generally, it can hold up to about 7,089 numeric characters, 4,296 alphanumeric characters, or about 1,800 UTF-8 Chinese characters. Keep content concise — very long text makes the QR Code dense and hard to scan.

Do generated QR Codes expire?

No. A QR Code is simply information encoded as an image and does not expire. As long as the image exists and the content hasn't changed, it can be scanned anytime. However, if the QR Code contains a URL, the page may become unavailable if taken offline.

How should I choose the QR Code size?

It depends on the use case. For web or social media, 200px is usually sufficient. For printing on flyers or posters, use 300px or larger. The large size (400px) is best for scenarios requiring scanning from a distance, such as exhibition banners.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. QR Code generation happens entirely in your browser. The text you enter is never sent to any server. You can safely enter any content, including passwords or private information.

Can it encode Chinese content?

Yes. This tool generates QR Codes using UTF-8 encoding, which fully supports Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other languages. Most QR Code scanners (including phone cameras) can correctly read multilingual content.
